Who is Courtney Love and what is her net worth?
Courtney Love is a musician, artist, and actress, and the widow of the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
It is believed that her net worth is about $100million (£80m).
Love is the front woman of the band Hole, who released their best-selling album four days after Cobain's body was found in April 1994.
The singer was born Courtney Michelle Harrison in San Francisco on July 9, 1964.
She had a turbulent childhood, living with her mother and step-father in a hippy commune following her parents' divorce.
In the early 70s, she briefly lived in New Zealand before returning to the States and living in Portland, Oregon.
There she was arrested for shoplifting at the age of 14, and ended up being placed in foster care until she was 16.
Around this time she started working as a stripper and adopted the stage name "Love", which she later took as a surname.

After a brief spell with her biological father in Ireland, where she studied theology for two terms, she moved to Japan and Taiwan and worked as a stripper there before being deported when the clubs were closed.
She then formed a band with friend Kat Bjelland in 1984 called Pagan Babies, despite not being able to play an instrument.

The band split a year later, and Kat - who is now a mortal enemy of Courtney's - formed her own group Babes In Toyland.
After trying out acting and appearing in the movie Sid & Nancy, Courtney taught herself to play guitar and decided to form her own band in the late 1980s.
Courtney had formed four-piece punk rock band, Hole, when she met Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, her future husband.
Before that Courtney had been married to singer James Moreland, as well as dating Hole bandmate Eric Erlandson and Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan.
She and Kurt started dating in late 1991 after she - by her own admission - pursued him relentlessly.

The couple married in February 1992 on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, with Love wearing a dress once owned by the actress Frances Farmer, and Cobain wearing green pyjamas.
The only time Love and Cobain ever appeared on stage together was in September 1993 at the Rock Against Rape fundraiser, seven months before his death which was legally ruled as a suicide on April 5, 1994.

From the mid 90s onwards, Courtney saw her career sky rocket, becoming a magnet for showbiz pals and movie producers.
She released her own solo album, and starred more regularly in Hollywood flicks.

Courtney opened up in 2021 about almost dying from anaemia.
She shared on Instagram post that she had been feeling sad as well as sick.
She wrote: "Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anemia (hemoglobin I had none)."
She added: "I’ve been basically bedridden. I thought I was broken for sure this time.
"But I’m ok! So I’m just waking and I’m frail. I’ll be strong again soon!"

Kurt died on April 5, 1994.
Courtney was in rehab in Los Angeles at the time.
He took his own life in the Seattle home he shared with Courtney.
In 2023, author Ian Halperin said the investigation into his death should be reopened as it couldn't possibly be suicide.

Did Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love have any children?
Courtney and Kurt have one daughter together.
She fell pregnant with their daughter Frances Bean soon after they got together.
Frances was born on August 18, 1992.
The visual artist posted a tribute to her dad on the 30th anniversary of his death in 2024, sharing that she wished she had known him.
She added: "Kurt wrote me a letter before I was born. The last line of it reads, 'wherever you go or wherever I go, I will always be with you'.
"He kept this promise because he is present in so many ways.
"Whether it’s by hearing a song or through the hands we share, in those moments I get to spend a little time with my dad & he feels transcendent."
