Baby Sussex was thought to be due from last week, with Meghan understood to be due at the end of April or early May. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Frogmore Cottage last month in search of privacy away from Kensington Palace, just in time for the baby’s arrival. After extensive renovations to the building, the couple has now moved in and will stay to raise their child.

What is it like inside Frogmore cottage?

Frogmore Cottage is a Grade-II listed building made up of five separate housing units.

Until recently, the property was not quite up to scratch for the royals and required a £3million cash injection from the Sovereign Grant - which is paid for by the taxpayer.

The Queen was prepared to offer Meghan and Harry Apartment 1 at Kensington Palace, where the couple resided until recently, it is understood.

However, they declined and they were offered Frogmore Cottage, which sits on the Windsor estate.

Renovations are expected to add 10 bedrooms, a new nursery for baby Sussex and space for a gym and yoga.

According to official plans for the site, new staircases, fireplaces and a “floating floor” have also been added.

It is thought the new flooring will be used in a sports room, and could be for a yoga room for spiritual Meghan.

Much like most of the royal residences, Frogmore House and parts of the estate are open to the public for a couple of days per year.

Regardless, the building is supposed to offer Meghan and Harry the seclusion they desire for their new family.

There is also enough space for Megan’s mother Doria Ragland to join.

She has landed in the UK and will apparently help care for the child after Meghan gives birth.

Katie Nicholl, royal correspondent for the Mail on Sunday and Vanity Fair, said the baby has not been born yet.

She confirmed baby Sussex was still on the way from a royal source, saying: “No royal baby yet.

“It’s a waiting game, it’s up to Mother Nature.”

Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland has now arrived in London, and it is expected she will stay for some time to help her daughter.

She won't be staying permanently, however, and will journey back to her home in LA.

Talking to People Magazine one source said while there is more than enough space for Meghan's mum, she will not stay permanently.

Any further details of the royal birth are closely guarded, and the public likely won't find out until days after baby Sussex has been born.

Reports say Meghan and Harry are scheduled for a photo shoot on the grounds of Windsor Castle with the new arrival.
