Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's 1998 Beach Wedding in Photos

The wedding that launched a thousand beach brides, supermodel Cindy Crawford wed businessman Rande Gerber on May 29, 1998 in one of the most envious celebrity nuptials to date. In honor of their 22nd wedding anniversary today, we're remembering the iconic day in photos.

The couple said "I do" on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and in true A-list fashion, kept the wedding a complete secret. The day was the definition of a relaxed beach wedding with the bride opting to go barefoot down the aisle. Crawford wore a John Galliano mini lace shift dress (which was bought off-the-rack!), carried a casual bouquet of white flowers and rocked effortless beach waves.

The supermodel's 2015 book, Becoming, offered an extra glimpse into the couple's ultra-casual nuptials, even giving the reason behind her au naturel beauty look. "I wanted to look like the best version of the girl Rande loves waking up to every morning," Crawford wrote. "Rather than have my dad walk me down the aisle and give me away, Rande and I chose to walk each other down the stairs that led to the beach and the ceremony." We're 100 percent in agreement that she nailed that best version of me look.

After the wedding, the newlyweds swapped their casual beach attire for bathing suits and sealed the marriage with a jump in the pool.

And the secret to a long-lasting marriage according to the girl who made her mole a fashion statement—tequila.

"I definitely think [tequila is the secret to a happy marriage]," Mrs. Gerber told Us Weekly in October 2015. "I mean, we met on tequila!" The couple is partners with best pal George Clooney on tequila brand Casamigos, which Cindy prefers on the rocks.
