They played lovers on the CW's 2009-17 series, but the actors struggled to even like one another when they first met off-camera. "Paul and I didn't get along at the beginning of the show," Dobrev said on the Directionally Challenged podcast. "I respected Paul Wesley, I didn't like Paul Wesley."

"I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they'd be like, 'Are you and Paul dating in real life?' Because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry," she continued. "And we despised each other so much, that it read as love. We really just didn't get along the first maybe five months of shooting."

These days, Dobrev and Wesley have put the tensions long behind them and are able to maintain a strong friendship.

"Maybe we had a moment where we actually connected, and he looked at me and he was like, 'Ten years from now, when we're not on this show, you're gonna really miss me. You're gonna miss these times; you'll look back, and this is gonna be the good old days. Well appreciate each other in 10 years,' " Dobrev remembered Wesley telling her. "He was so f—— right. We ended up getting to a good place and it was fine."

"Of everyone, I think I probably see him the most and hang out with him the most. We're probably the closest," she added. "We hang out a lot. We're really good friends. I love his wife. It's so funny how time changes everything because I never thought he would be one of my best friends."

"He didn't want me for the part, and I didn’t think he was right for the part. We both had to really learn how to respect each other, and we earned it," Wahlberg said of shooting the 1995 movie with DiCaprio while speaking at the LEAP Foundation conference in July 2018.

Wahlberg previously opened up about the feud in a 2013 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Leonardo was like, 'Over my dead f—— body. Marky Mark's not going to be in this f—— movie,'" he told the outlet. "Because we'd had a thing — I didn't even realize it, [but] I was a bit of a d— to him at a charity basketball game. So he was like, 'This f—— a—— is not going to be in this movie.' … So I come in and I do the audition and I kind of look at him and he kind of looks at me, and then we do a scene, and they’re like, 'Hmm, this f—— dude's pretty good, right?'"

The O.C.'s Young Cast Members Were 'Miserable' and Difficult to Work With

We’d like to tell you it wasn’t so, but both Tate Donovan, who played Jimmy Cooper and directed, and Cam Gigandet, who played bad boy Kevin Volchok, have confirmed that the hit show's stars were horrible coworkers.

"By the time I started to direct, the kids on the show had developed a really bad attitude," Donovan told Vulture. “They just didn't want to be doing the show anymore … When you achieve a certain amount of success, you want to be doing something else. I mean, one of them turned to me and said, 'This show is ruining my film career,' and he had never done a film before. You just can't help but sort of think that your life and your career are going to go straight up, up, up. So they were very difficult."

Meanwhile, Gigandet told Elle the real Ryan Atwood didn’t really seem to have a heart of gold. "Ben McKenzie was kind of mean to me," he said. "I hadn't done anything at that point and he was a little bit of an ass. But I love him. I think he's a great actor and I love Southland."

"I learned a lot," the actor added about being on the show. "But the things that I remember now — none of them are good. It was only the third or fourth season. Those kids were f---ing miserable. They were just— they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young."

Chevy Chase Allegedly Made Racist Remarks About Community Castmate Donald Glover

Community

In a New Yorker profile of the Atlanta mastermind, Community creator Dan Harmon claimed that Chase made a habit of directing racial cracks at Glover while filming the sitcom.

According to Harmon, Chase would say things like, "People think you're funnier because you're black."

"Chevy was the first to realize how immensely gifted Donald was, and the way he expressed his jealousy was to try to throw Donald off," Harmon said. "I remember apologizing to Donald after a particularly rough night of Chevy's non-P.C. verbiage, and Donald said, 'I don't even worry about it.'"

Despite the belittling remarks, Glover had empathy for his costar. "I just saw Chevy as fighting time — a true artist has to be okay with his reign being over. I can't help him if he's thrashing in the water. But I know there's a human in there somewhere — he's almost too human," he said. (“I am saddened to hear that Donald perceived me in that light,” Chase told The New Yorker.)

Carrey couldn't count his fellow actor among his fans when they shot the 1995 superhero movie. "I was the star, and that was the problem," he revealed on Norm MacDonald Live.

"I went over and said, 'Hey, Tommy, how you doing?' And the blood just drained from his face like he had been thinking about me 24 hours a day," Carrey recalled about one incident. "It was before the biggest scene we have together in the movie. The blood just drained from his face. He started shaking and he got up and … he must have been in mid-kill-me fantasy or something. He went to hug me and said, 'I hate you. I really don't like you.' I said, ‘Gee, man, what’s the problem?' I pulled up a chair, which probably wasn’t smart. And he said, 'I cannot sanction your buffoonery.'"

According to director Mark Waters, Lohan was noticeably subdued around the other actress. The dynamic even influenced the decision to cast McAdams as Regina George. "When Lindsay was acting with Rachel, she got very shy, because Rachel was older and a very accomplished actress," he told Vulture. "She'd come in the room and not talk to Lindsay — she was very focused. Lindsay kind of got nervous around her, and I thought that, more than anything, was going to be the deciding factor, the fact that she affected Lindsay in that way."

Thorne explained to J-14 why her and Zendaya’s relationship was a challenge on the Disney show set, despite their mutual desire to be friends.

"Zendaya and I were put in a very unfortunate position where we were kind of forced to compete against each other [during Shake It Up], which made the whole first season of the show just very awkward for us," she revealed. "We wanted to love each other, but yet we were constantly being put against each other. It was, 'Who's better at this?' and ‘Who's better at that?'"

Luckily, the talented duo managed to squash any would-be beefs with a heart-to-heart. "And then second season we kind of just had this tell-all talk where we started crying and really just put everything out there on the table, and that's when we became best friends," Thorne said.

It might have been love at first sight for his character, but Gosling took awhile to warm up to the actress, who he ended up dating IRL. Director Nick Cassavetes spilled the beans about one of their big conflicts during an interview with VH1.

"Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not," Cassavetes said. "And Ryan came to me, and there's 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, 'Nick come here.' He's doing a scene with Rachel and he says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this.'"

"[Later] we went into a room with a producer; they started screaming and yelling at each other. I walked out … And it got better after that, you know? They had it out … I think Ryan respected her for standing up for her character and Rachel was happy to get that out in the open. The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing."

Tim Gunn Thought Taylor Momsen Was a 'Brat' When He Did a Gossip Girl Guest Spot

The Project Runway mentor was not impressed with the actress when he made a cameo in 2010. "What a diva! She was pathetic, she couldn't remember her lines, and she didn't even have that many," he told E! News of the then-teenager. "I thought to myself 'why are we all being held hostage by this brat?'"

Gunn said that he refrained from saying anything to Momsen, but would have given her one of his signature talking-tos had he been a series regular: “I’d say, 'You know young lady, there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you. Why are you acting like this show is a huge burden on you?' She was on her phone during every break, I wanted to tell her, 'If you weren't on your BlackBerry, you can retain this stuff.'"

There Was Tension Between Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer During Magic Mike Filming

Pettyfer confirmed that he wasn't in Tatum's good graces on Bret Easton Ellis' podcast. "It's true," the actor said of rumors of a feud. "Because Channing Tatum does not like me — and for many reasons [and] many being my own fault."

“I didn't speak on the movie," he continued. “I actually did my work and I sat in the corner and listened to music because I had been told that anything I do is wrong by my reps … I was very insecure as a human being and that also gave me a bad rep because they said, 'Oh, Alex thinks he's f---ing better than everyone else because he doesn't speak to anyone,' and that's not true. I was just genuinely nervous and scared to be myself. I was in character."

Things got even more heated when Pettyfer and his then-girlfriend rented an apartment from Tatum's friend. The couple left the apartment while still owing back-pay.

"What happened was my cousin passed away, his lungs collapsed and he died … and I was devastated and dealing with family drama and forgot about the situation which was the apartment," the actor explained. "And I all the sudden got a very negative email from Channing, rightfully so, saying 'Don't f-- my friends. You owe money. Pay the f---ing money. Don't be a clown.'"

The X-Files Actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Fought at Various Points Over the Years

The pair has worked together on the show since 1993, so it’s no wonder that they’ve had issues from time to time. "We used to argue about nothing. We couldn't stand the sight of each other," Duchovny confessed to Metro in 2008.

"I mean, yes, there were definitely periods when we hated each other," Anderson told The Guardian in 2015. "Hate is too strong a word. We didn’t talk for long periods of time. It was intense, and we were both pains in the arse for the other at various times … But we are closer today than we ever have been.”
