NEW YORK — A New York City woman is going above and beyond when it comes to the spirit of giving this holiday season.
Carol Suchman was walking by a toy store with a sign that said "for rent."
After negotiating with the owner she decided to buy it instead.
But nothing is for sale.
Suchman is giving everything -- toys, school supplies and stuffed animals -- to the homeless.
"Children is always my focus," said Suchman. "So that's why I realized a lot of foster kids get a lot of used things and I realized probably a lot of them never had, um, a birthday gift that they actually wanted."
Thousands of homeless children in the city will now have at least one present to open from Suchman's generous purchase.
